The Weavers' Society
of Anderston

In the looms and workshops of Anderston, the Weavers’ Society emerged in 1738 as a bond between neighbours, built on shared skill, mutual aid and pride in honest labour. Over 275 years on, weaving plays a much smaller part in the daily life of Anderston but our purpose remains the same - to serve and support the community of Anderston, drawing on our motto "Alter Alterius Auxilio Veget" which translates to "One flourishes by the help of the other".
